Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to do to become a licensed massage therapist?
The St. Moritz Academy Professional Therapeutic Massage Program consists of 650 clock hours, meeting the educational requirements established by the State of Colorado. Through a comprehensive curriculum and extensive hands-on clinical experience, students develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professional confidence needed to begin a successful career in massage therapy and prepare for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). Upon successful completion of the program, graduates must pass the MBLEx and obtain licensure through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) before practicing as a licensed massage therapist.
How much can I make as a massage therapist?
As a massage therapist, the range of pay is typically $40 to $80 per treatment. This includes treatment pay and gratuity. The higher end is typically paid to resort spas like the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, or Canyon Ranch.
